Adriana Lima: Victoria’s Secret Angel
When talking about Brazilian models, it’s impossible to skip Adriana Lima.
This attractive supermodel with a unique style and seductive look has reached the height of success in her modeling career. Adriana Lima is mostly known as Victoria Secret’s Angel after her work in 2000. She also worked as a spokesmodel for Maybelline cosmetics.
But this glamorous woman was noticed when she was only a teenager. Adriana admits that she has never considered the idea of becoming a model. It all happened unexpectedly. Adriana’s friend wanted to participate in a model contest and she asked to join her. So they both sent their pictures and that’s where Adriana kicked her first goal.
She won first place in the “Supermodel of Brazil” contest when she was only 15 and then second place in the “Supermodel of the World” competition. It really seems that the best things happen when people don’t expect them.
Then Adriana decided to move to New York and continue her modeling career there. In one of her interviews, the famous model discussed how she started her career in New York: “When I saw all the girls, I thought, ‘What am I doing here?’ The girls were so beautiful. I said to my mother,’There’s no way that I am going in.’ And she said, ‘No, you are going and you’re going to get this job.’ I was so nervous, but I went in and I got the job!” Yes, she was born under a lucky star!
And today she is among the most recognizable fashion celebrities. Adriana is on the covers of glamour magazines and works with the top celebrity designers like Christian Lacroix, Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren, Valentino and Fendi.
