Kate Middleton Makes Best-Dressed List… Again
In 1983 Princess Diana made the best dressed list. Almost twenty years later her eldest son’s wife, Kate Middleton made the same list. Royalty is as royalty does and Kate draws almost as much attention as her late mother-in-law did.
Being on the cover of Vanity Fair fashion magazine is a huge plus; being on September’s cover is a prominent showcase of star power. Vanity Fair extols 30-year-old’s appreciation of British top fashion designers like Alexander McQueen, Alice Temperley, and Matthew Williamson, among others, and for her mix of higher- and lower-end styles.
While we were plodding through the commute in a drooping shift, Kate Middleton overwhelmed in a relaxed-but-elegant grey dress. The royal’s penchant for both designer labels like Alexander McQueen and Jimmy Choo, integrated with her favor of affordable brands like Zara and Topshop, have made the royal beauty a fashion fixture since marrying Prince William, 30, on April 29, 2011. Prince Harry, 27, who is her brother-in-law, has also made his debut on the list. “Middleton is said to find the constant clothing changes required by her itinerary, sometimes up to five a day, to be rather stressful,” the mag writes. “Prince Charles spent an estimated $55,000 in the first half of the year on designer clothes for his daughter-in-law, but Middleton continues to decline the services of a royal dresser, preferring instead to shop for herself.”
The princess not only eschews any help when dressing, she is the cook for her and hubby Prince William, making her own sausage for instance. The couple also watch boxed DVD sets and are enjoying the now cancelled show- The Killing. She is getting ready to redecorate Kensington Palace, the once home of her dearly departed mother-in-law, Princess Diana. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles will be footing the bill, a reported whopping $1.5 million.
