Men’s Suit Styles
One may never imagine a man’s wardrobe without at least a single suit.
Nearly every man will need to wear a suit at least once in his life, regardless of whether he likes to sport one.
Actually there are several styles of men’s suits and it’s worth knowing them in case you are shopping for one.
In general, suits are classified under several groups. Below is some information about some of them.
Italian style suits have large lapels, slit pockets and are double breasted. A classic one will be ventless, with padded shoulders. This style is actually considered to be the most fashionable, modern and widespread. Pleated pants of Italian style suits have slit pockets. This style will especially look nice on tall men, as experts state that short men must avoid double-breasted suits.
British suits have three buttons and medium-sized lapels. They have three outside pockets, padded shoulders and two vents. Pleated or double-pleated pants are very nice and elegant.
American suits are single vented with rounded shoulders. Suit jackets have medium-sized lapels, two buttons, and three outside flap pockets. This style is suitable for large chested men, as it will emphasize their build. While American style suits are mainly casual, the British style is especially great for the office and formal occasions.
And finally, there are Mandarin suits. This style varies from the others. Its collar stands straight up unlike the one found on traditional suits. The jacket is closed by five or six buttons from the hem to the collar. A special mandarin shirt is preferable for this style.
There are many other styles out there to choose from. Don’t rush to find your fit–take the time to purchase the right one.
