What Makes Urban Fashion?
What does a woman need to look great in her everyday routine, in order to fit into the rhythm of modern life? She needs urban fashion to be stylish and self confident.
Being stylish and self confident is not about always looking perfectly groomed and styled from the bottom of your feet to the tip of your nose – it means wearing what you like to wear, what suits you and what is appropriate for the situation. That’s what street fashion is all about.
In big cities, women want to always look astounding, which in turn means wearing uncomfortable clothes there. To feel comfortable in the city, you should follow urban fashion trends.
Here are some fashion tips and criteria of a real urban fashion queen:
Wear comfortable shoes. Even if you look confident on platform heels when you go out of your house and start for work, are you sure you will still look confident in the eyes of men in the street, when you have to run to catch the bus? This scene looks pretty funny to men, believe me. If you, for instance, have to go straight to a glamorous event after work, just take your designer evening shoes with you in a bag.
Don’t be a slave to your hairstyle. Don’t go out wearing hairstyles that you know will bother you and are not long-lasting. Running to the mirror to fix your hair every half an hour is a huge pain. Choose a look that is both natural and does not require a lot of attention during the day.
Be unique. All of us want to stand out from the crowd, so pick something particular to you – the way you combine your clothes or the kind of accessories you wear. Every detail can flaunt your uniqueness.
Get yourself a bicycle. I officially declare bicycles as the most stylish vehicles of 2010. If you want to get everywhere, to be on time and avoid traffic jams, change your means of transportation. You’ll get in shape, too.
I often go clothes shopping at Urban Outfitters. They have stores in most major US cities. If you live in the Boston area (where I’m from), there’s one in Harvard Square and another in Faneuil Hall. You can find everything they offer in their stores on their website as well.
Don’t be afraid to look cool and feel comfortable, whenever you want.
