Galliano's New Edgy Spring Collection

Gallianos New Edgy Collection 199x300 Galliano's New Edgy Spring CollectionThose who are more or less familiar with the singular and eccentric taste of John Galliano will definitely find his new Spring 2011 Menswear collection absolutely striking.

The master of fashion runways, who is popular for his incomparable understanding of feminine beauty, continues to present his wild and peculiar style to the audience.

This 50-year-old fashion designer was born in Gibraltar but grew up in London. Galliano is one of the most famous fashion designers of our times.

This time his spring-summer 2011 menswear show in Paris, which took place on June 25, had a fashion flavor of the early film industry. The runway models seemed to be look-alikes of Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton.

The taste of those two great characters were depicted in vivid detail. The Chaplin mustache and his famous bowler hat were unmistakable, and so was the makeup: thick eyebrows and eyeliner were the main cosmetic highlights. The Buster Keaton characters appeared with pork pie hats and slim, cream-color suits.

All this was combined with modern and edgy vogue, which was done with a great taste as always. The collection, which surely had an emphatic effect, was in black, cream and brown colors.

The collection consisted of loose pants, which were fitted at the wast, tight jackets, dotted scarves and serious-looking suits with narrow belts clenching the waist. I am more than sure that a lot of men would want to add some of these outfits to their closet.

The show, including the models who appeared on the runway emerging from a giant clock, was dramatic and superb. Galliano’s talent of making men’s fashion extremely seductive and intriguing once again didn’t fail.

At the end of the show Galliano came out in a white wife-beater, jeans and cap. It was one of the most impressive collections among other top fashion designers like Stefano Pilati, Raf Simons and Thom Browne.
