Top 5 Collections Of 2010 Top 5 Collections Of 2010This year as always the best fashion designers keep on shocking even the most experienced and “I’ve-seen-everything-possible” fashion critics. Five of them, however, proved the most successful this year and are recognized by many influential representatives of the fashion industry.

Here are the top 5 collections of 2010.

  1. Dolce&Gabbana came up with an amazing spring-summer 2010 collection. Using denim as the main fabric for the collection, they managed to make it amazingly feminine and enchanting. This is a collection for those who like to emphasize their individuality via their style.
  2. Burberry Prorsum drew overall admiration with the casual elegance and tender sexiness. Burberry’s Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey used mainly pastels and colors of sand, mud and copper. The humble coloring of the collection didn’t make it dull though. The unusual forms and the rich texture made the collection quite exciting. Cashmere, silk and chiffon dresses with highly built-up strong shoulders were really fascinating and worth seeing.
  3. The Versace spring summer 2010 collection is very often referred to as “Alice in Wonderland,” assuming that this story inspired Donatella for her new collection. The enchanting, sexy and confident mood of the collection, represented mainly in pastels, makes it somewhat ethereal. Short skirts and geometric cuts dominate the collection.
  4. The Balmain 2010 collection was labeled by many fashion critics as the most challenging and the hottest one. The main theme of the collection is mini dresses. The trend towards torn makes the whole mood of the collection somewhat aggressive.
  5. The Proenza Schouler collection for this spring and summer with a trend towards the elements and hints of animal skins is one of the best. Best known as designers of “the rebel young,” Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez managed to surprise everybody once again with the original combination of colors and style, putting together a piece of the fauna and the spirit of clubber youngsters.

The spring summer 2010 collections from Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Emanuel Ungaro, Cerutti and Narciso Rodriguez are also gaining lots of attention, so check it out!
