Prada Makes Latest Olympic Fashion News
The summer Olympics this year are in London, and pretty soon, the entire summer news will be dominated by the ups and downs on the Olympic world. So far this summer, about 20 or so runway shows have been taken place in the beautiful Milan, and finally, the fashion news circuit is talking about the June 24th event in which Prada showcased their Spring 2013 collection. This collection made the latest fashion news because the entire collect consisted of apparel that could have been worn to the 2012 London Olympic Games. The fashion news world lit up because it was as if Miuccia Prada was a country and they had decided to send their very own team to compete in the Olympics.
Miuccia Prada’s sports collection was inspired by the Eastern European sporting teams back in the 1960’s. Back in the 1960’s, the satellite states of the Soviets quite often out played and outperformed any and all of the nations in the West. This became apparent even in the pants, as every single pant leg had a really broad white stripe in the interior of the pant leg, and a majority of the men wore very loose blazers, which is typical for an athlete who has a larger torso.
Miuccia Prada pretty much played into the big summer latest fashion trend of very fine wool redingotes for the high performance squad that she features, none of which wore a tie by the way. (A very athletic decision.) And on top of all of that, to make even more fashion news, a bunch of female models marched, military style, down the catwalk during the show. The models had Slavic origins and wore head sweat bands, and at times even dressed exactly like the men.
