Milan "About J" Show
A new fashion show called “About J” launched in Milan, Italy, this weekend. “About J” is planned to present 80 gold jewellery producers and is expected to have 400 buyers.
National Jeweler Network reports that the designers on display include Aaron Basha, Calgaro, Garavelli, Gurhan, Hearts On Fire, Marco Bicego, Mikimoto, Nanis, Orlando Orlandini, Picchiotti and Roberto Coin.
One of the standout designers in terms of creativity was Spanish jewelry designer Vicente Gracia Joyas, who revealed such detailed work as a jewelry piece reflecting a bird nesting its eggs. His client base includes the Spanish Royal Family, Spanish institutions and collectors from around the world.
According to Tdctrade.com, the show was well attended with 1,606 exhibitors and more than 15,000 visitors, up 25% over 2007. Buyer Peter Olen from Sweden is quoted on the website expressing his satisfaction of the show.
“Vicenza is constantly growing in quality and completeness. I was able to visit many Italians but also other producers. Very interesting were the companies from Hong Kong, whose production seems to become more and more design- and fashion-oriented than in the past.”
