Looking Cool With Street Fashion
Street fashion has been around for years and the meaning of street fashion is that it comes from the minds of the youth of a certain period. In other words, it does not come from a fashion house. Street fashion changes with the change of time and as one generation grows and a new one comes along the street fashion changes to reflect the new generation, such as the hippies who wore bell-bottom pants, flowery shirts, peasant tops and long hair. Teddy Boys wore jackets that draped, drainpipe pants and crepe shoes, while Goth dressed in black clothing, wore heavy boots and very dark makeup. Punk was another recent fashion that included ripped clothing, Mohawk style hair, and offensive t-shirt slogans.
Street fashion and urban fashion is one way of making a statement. Teenagers use style to show they are cool and ‘with it’. The Urban fashion is found in every mall in America and is such an eclectic style it is recognized everywhere. The clothing names are just as varied as the styles they represent, like KR3W, Skull Candy, Osiris, Carhartt , Converse, Adidas, Skull Candy, Puma, Tripp, Polo, Aéropostale, North Face, Vans, and Hollister. Clothes include, skinny jeans for male and female, hoodies, beanies, band-t’s and Carhartt Sherpa lined jackets. Osiris, Adidas, Converse, and DC shoes come in every color in the rainbow.
Street fashion also includes hairstyles and different hair colors, and piercings are the norm. Termed ‘Emo’ hairstyles of many are jet-black hair, with razor cut layers, lots of teasing and hairspray for that just woken up look. Bright colors are often added and hairbands and bows are popular today.
The latest styles are bright, sophisticated, and so versatile. The street fashion of today is very much sported by teenagers everywhere across the world.
