GAP Present On Valentine's Day
FABSUGAR: Fashion and Style reports that GAP has created a new line of Mulberry Roxanne bags for Valentine’s Day partnered with Katie Grand, fashion editor of Pop Magazine.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Gap will launch a limited edition handbag for its (Product) RED campaign. The bag was originally created in December for Gap’s European collection with help from fashion guru Katie Grand. Katie, fashion editor of Pop Magazine, has recreated the Mulberry Roxanne bag in a sweatshirt jersey material that will be available in both red and grey.
Handbaggery.com reports that the line was first released in the UK and Paris on 1 December 2007 to commemorate World AIDS Day.
The bag was first released in England and Paris on December 1, 2007, to commemorate World AIDS Day. The bag is now being launched in the U.S. The Mulberry Roxanne bag has been reworked in sweatshirt jersey and will be available in both red and gray.
Franchising.com quotes Grand commenting on her collaboration with GAP.
“Throughout my adult life I have seen the effects of AIDS at close hand,” says Katie, “So to be asked to curate this project with Gap and (RED) has been an honor and a privilege. It’s not very often you get the chance to take designers from fashion’s more exclusive areas and make them accessible to a wider audience through a high-street icon.”
The new limited edition of Gap handbags will reportedly be sold starting from yesterday exclusively at the Gap store located at 680 5th Avenue at 54th Street in NYC. Half the profit from sales will go to the Global Fund to help eliminate AIDS in Africa.
