Recently, I had a talk with my friends about the type of shoes they prefer the most for everyday wear. We reached a common denominator, which doesn’t happen very often. All of us love to wear clogs. Is this true for you, too?

We love them as they’re very comfortable and come in different styles. But does each of us know that they’re very healthy as well? Their popularity persuaded me to do some research and I’ve learned quite some interesting stuff about them.

Their soles are designed in a way to conform to the foot shape. As to the back, it’s mostly open which prevents our feet from unpleasant sweating. The clog’s shape and construction eliminate further pressure on the back. Moreover, wooden ones are more hygienic and they help reduce the risk of fungus. This is the main reason why they’re commonly worn by staff in hospitals.
