Gaddafi In Luxurious Sunglasses
As the rebellion in Libya is in full action, we see their notorious dictator much more often on television channels. A few days ago I was watching Muammar Al-Gaddafi’s interview on BBC and instead of listening to his speech, I paid attention to the designer sunglasses he was wearing. Predictably enough those were Ray-Bans. The designer sunglasses looked so outrageous with Gaddafi’s outfit that it seemed to be a trademark feature of his character.
After the interview I made a research in a hope to find out more about his passion to brand sunglasses. I was shocked to see the huge variety of luxury sunglasses that he wore during the public events he attended.
It doesn’t matter if he wears a tribal robe or a dictator’s costume; he always matches new sunglasses with those. I even read the gossip that Ray-Ban supplied Gaddafi with new sunglasses for free until the moment he started bombing his own people. If not to his negative character, he could be a face for a promo campaign by Ray-Ban.
I believe the charismatic leader is a true trend teller in the sunglasses market and I would not be surprised to come across some fashion magazines, where Gaddafi would be spotted wearing a new collection of designer sunglasses. The Colonel’s collection of designer sunglasses is not just limited to classic Aviator’s, it also includes the latest models of Gucci and Louis Vuitton sunglasses that one can find in the latest editions of glamorous fashion magazines.
Nobody thought that a ruthless dictator can be such a maniacal fashion follower. Who knows, maybe if he steps down from his post, he might actually launch his own sunglasses brand or a fashion blog.
