Dress For Your Body Type
Many women know how it feels NOT to have a perfect body… It is always difficult to find elegant dresses, which fit you and visually make your shape better. But it is easier than it seems to be, if you know a couple of simple tricks.
- If you have a heavy bottom, the best way to balance this shape is to chose a dress that isn’t tight on the lower part of your body. You can chose dresses with full skirts and with a higher waist. They emphasize the bust and hide the short-comings of the bottom.
- If you have flabby arms, that’s not a disaster, either. You don’t have to get totally wrapped in clothes in order to hide it. Just pick a dress with long sleeves and an open decollete, or a wide square neckline. Another choice is to just wear a bolero over a dress. These short jackets are light and usually cover only your arms.
- If you are “petite” and have a small frame, choose extremely elegant dresses with a lot of shape, but still flatter your figure. In any case avoid ruffles and too-cutesy looks, otherwise you will look like a little girl.
- If you have a plus size, don’t be afraid of showing your skin and wearing sleeveless dresses. Your dress should be light and wavy, made of a non-slinky fabric, for example, silk. Silk dresses are sexy and elegant, and you will not have to think of your short-comings.
- You think you have unattractive legs? Then choose a longer dress, for example, mid-calf or longer, but don’t hide your legs in pants.
- It’s generally considered to be beautiful to have wide shoulders, but if you don’t want to show them off, your dress should be asymmetrical, for example one-shouldered. Avoid combining slim bottoms with voluminous sleeves and tops.
- Do you have a thick waist? Avoid dresses with a defined waistline. The best is to wear a waist-drop dress, which falls down to the hipbones or a dress with a raised waist.
- Does a full bust need to be disguised? Of course not, but if you want to do that, wear V or square-neck wrap-style dresses. They are not stiff and do not spoil the general shape of your body.
- If you have a small bust and want to make it seem bigger, pick out a dress, which is voluminous on the front upper part. For example it can have ruffles or folds that add volume to the bust and a defined waistline, which will add width to the upper half of your body.
- If you lack curves and are too thin, add volume to your body by wearing full dresses with folds, ruffles and layers.
However, remember, that every body shape is beautiful, you just have to know how to treat your body and what clothes to wear for the occasion, that’s it. When you make the right choice in choosing an evening or cocktail dress, you will be irresistible!
